Genre: Romance, Contemporary, Humour, Women’s Fiction, Romantic Comedy
Amy and Breanna are half-sisters who grew up bound by shared history but pulled apart by different lives.
Amy has always felt out of place, shaped by an absent father and a longing for a family. Breanna, younger and more settled, juggles a demanding job, two children, and long stretches of solo parenting.
When years of failed IVF leave Amy with one last frozen embryo—and the devastating news that she can’t carry a pregnancy herself—she turns to Breanna with an impossible request. But as old jealousies and the pressures of motherhood begin to surface, the sisters’ fragile balance is tested.
Soon, they’re both forced to confront who they’ve become in the shadow of expectations that never quite fit.
Set in small-town New Zealand, MY SISTER’S BABY is a tender, emotionally powerful novel by Susan Edmunds.

My Thoughts

My Sister’s Baby by Susan Edmunds: This story is about a young lady named Amy who ran and owned a retail store that had all the recent fashions. She had infertility issues that had them decide to start IVF, which led to her marriage ending. Newly single, she continued to stay on her path to becoming a mother. At one of her final scans to see if she had conceived, she found out she had a medical problem with her uterine wall that was not allowing her to become pregnant. Which meant she would have to try other avenues such as surrogacy if she still wanted to become a parent. Her choice to try another avenue led to asking her half sister Breanne, a mother of two, if she would carry her child for her. Imagine getting the courage to ask her; it had to be very hard. Really enjoyed how those sisters interacted with each other. Very sweet story!!
