A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN AUTHOR

Hello readers! Thank you for stopping by today. I am a contemporary romance author, and Forever Kind of Love is my fourth novel. Readers often wonder what it’s like to be a writer, and I thought I would share a personal overview of a day in the life of me as an author.

I like to get up early, say between 6 and 7 am, and then I take a hot shower. When I warm up my muscles, I can stretch much better on my yoga mat. Yes, I practice yoga and meditation for about 45 minutes before I move to my writing chair. Now calm and open to the muses, I make chai tea and work for about 2-3 hours in the morning. This is the best time for me. I’m not a night owl—I like to sleep

After typing at my computer, I have breakfast and usually go for a walk. I might go back to my computer for an hour before lunch if I’m editing a book. I go on about my day with errands, fun or whatever and then return to my office in the later afternoon. Usually, this is the time I work on social media and marketing tasks, answer emails, and more editing.

My brain is pretty much toast after dinner, so I don’t do a lot of writing or author tasks then. Now it’s time for a little Netflix and early bed with a good book. Oh, and I try and read at least 1-2 hours per day. I think that’s important for any author. I mostly read romance, historical fiction and literary fiction. I like to mix it up. What do you like to read?
Thanks for reading.

About Book

Zach softly touched her left arm. “Let’s inspect the darkroom again and ensure you don’t need anything else.”
“Okay. Maybe you’ll see something I didn’t.”
He followed her into the room, running a hand over the new shelves. “These seem to be sturdy enough.”
She edged closer to the sink. “The only thing not working is this.” Grasping the faucet handle, she rotated it. A gush of water spewed out, splashing her clothes, and she shrieked. “What the…?” She swung around.
Zach leaned against the table, both hands in his pockets and a roguish smirk popping his dimples. He shrugged.
“Magic?” She widened her eyes. “You fixed it?”
“Pops and I did.” He wrinkled his forehead. “You aren’t mad, are you?”
Willow leaped and threw both arms around him, squeezing hard. “Thank you! No, I’m not mad.” She shuddered, struggling to keep her emotions in check.
“But I don’t have the money to pay you back yet.” She released her grasp on his body, the heat of him radiating through her skin and leaving her dizzy.
