Excerpt:
I had to wipe off my makeup, yet if I was spending the night in a man’s apartment—whoa, I had to check myself. It had been a while since I’d had sex, but with Trevor that would possibly destroy the sort of friendship we were trying to build. If we solved this crisis—and that was a big if—he’d forget about me anyway.
He had given me his jacket when I was cold, prepared a nice meal for me, and kind of flirted with me. On the other hand, he was cozy with another woman hours ago. On the other hand, again, this was a unique situation and my feelings weren’t in my head. On the last hand—apparently I was the goddess Durga with all the arms—I hadn’t been with a man that excited me…well, ever. Were his gestures friendship, kindness, or something more?
No. Nope. I should be thinking about the Time Machine and how we can destroy it.
I heard him stride down the hallway and enter his bedroom. He didn’t shut the door.
Dammit! I could go back and forth all night long and still not come to an answer. All I knew was that my sacral chakra was on fire, or at least it felt that way. My solar plexus began to rev up too. It called for me to claim my personal power and go fuck the shit out of Trevor.
I emerged from the bathroom and marched straight into Trevor’s bedroom. No knocking. He was sitting up on the bed with a pillow between him and the headboard. He was consumed with his phone.
He looked up. “Yes?”
His shirt, pants, and socks were strewn across the oversized chair. I didn’t see underwear of any kind, so he must be wearing them, and I noticed he was shirtless—and that he was in good, actually, great shape. Thin but he had small muscles and a sculpted chest.
Without thinking, I blurted, “Trevor, do you have feelings for me?”
