Smoke& Mirrors By Joanie Olson
Genere: Memoir
Searching for an answer to a question you haven’t asked yet? You are not alone. One small
realization and a whole world unravels. Woven through these pages are a series of my most significant life events relating to narcissistic victim/survivor syndrome. Inside are keys unlocking mysteries of complex PTSD, compounded through various forms of abuse.A journey of highs, like the Freedom Convoy, and the lows of a failed longtime marriage. With spiritual forces at work behind the scenes, could a Christian home have so many secrets? The smoke will clear to reveal our true mirrored self.

Behind closed doors, this woman was dealing with so much to make sure she could make it look like everything was alright for her children to thrive in a two-parent household. Would her husband’s rolling around in someone else’s dirty sheets bring her home something incurable like HIV? She gets on that plane, flying to her first destination, which was Paris, France, where she comes to the realization that the world is hers for exploring. Following the voices from above, she gained the courage to accept that her children were going to be okay if she decided to divorce, as they were self-sufficient adults now. Starting life over, she attended broadcasting college to do the morning news. Experienced the ups & downs of dealing with finding out her new norm without her vices that she used to deal with her narcissistic husband all those years. My, oh my, the trauma the abusers can leave behind. It was a five-star for me, no doubts about it. From the moment I started reading the book, I was going on this adventure with her as she got on the airplane. This was relatable in so many ways as wives and/or mothers going through life; our own needs are second to everyone else’s. I am rooting for her!! If you would like a copy , grab one here.
